Pressure bump is a motive phenomenon with a sharp and fierce destructive because of sudden release of deformation energy when the original balance of rock mechanics around coal mine roadway was destroyed. It is one of the major disasters which threaten safe production of coal mine. Impact tendentiousness index which tests on the coal is an important index that distinguishes the extent of impact Based on a large amount of systematic and thorough impact tendentiousness index tests on the roof, floor and coal sample of coal seam in Yanbei Coal Mine, the paper identifies that the coal seam and the strata of roof and floor in Yanbei Coal Mine have medium impact tendentiousness and the impetus phenomena in Yanbei Coal Mine are pressure bump and it belongs to mediuM impact tendentiousness. The factors by analysis that affect the pressure bump in Yanbei Coal Mine include Changes of geological conditions, effect of coal seaM sublevel mining and effect of coal quality. The paper presents countermeasures of prevention and treatment, such as emphasizing forecasting and prediction, optimizing mining-district design and reducing the area where stress concentrates, coal seam water infusion and drilling and pressure relief.
