The cosmopolitan city of Hamburg combines the traditional and the modern in an exemplary manner: From the ancient "Speicherstadt" and old sail ships, to the futuristic dockland architecture and the new "Elbphilharmonie" of the emerging new "Hafencity". This combination is the perfect guideline for the design of the new metro "DT5". And even more so because on one hand it replaces the famous 40 year old DT3-vehicles and on the other hand it operates on the future line U4 running into the new "Hafencity" from 2011 on.
