The usage of robotic technology for human services is increasingly coming into re-alization. Despite rapid advances, there are few robots that are practically in use in the humanlife environment. The service robot iRobiQ is a ubiquitous robot which can deliver lots of ed- ited contents through ubiquitous network and has many features enabling intelligent interactionwith young children and adults. iRobiQ has been used in the kindergarten environment to sup-port the teachers and to play with kids for book reading, singing, dancing, game etc. iRobiQ isequipped with several IT technologies and has outstanding features for human robot interaction,thus serving as an constant source of attraction for children. In this paper, some of the featuresof iRobiQ, and the network-based service robot paradigm will be presented along with itsapplicability for education of children.
