At Bozkir dam exposure, a well-developed sheeted dike complex contains basic rocks and plagiogranite associations showing dike-in-dike structure. In felsic rocks, green tschermakite and brown biotite are two major mafic minerals, with plagioclase showing albite twinning and slight normal zoning. The major rock forming minerals in the basic rocks are hornblende, plagioclase (An% 83), diopside and occasionally biotite in a poikilitik texture. The plagiogranite samples are rich in SiO_2 (74.5-80.05 wt%), Na_2O (3.63-4.51wt%) and poor in K_2O (mostly 0.03-0.36) while the basic dike samples are enriched in Fe_2O_3t (mostly 6.2-8.9 wt%), and depleted in SiO_2 (mostly 46.45-50.5 wt%). Tholeiitic felsic and basic rocks are mostly tonalite and gabbro in composition, respectively. The occurrence of plagiogranites as leucozomes in the basic rocks suggests that the plagiogranites in the complex may have formed by low-pressure melting of hydrated oceanic gabbro. This may be confirmed by existence of compositional gaps in some variation diagrams, e.g. Al_2O_3, TiO_2 and Ba versus SiO_2. Most of the samples are characterized by concave-upward REE pattern with positive Eu anomaly, confirming hornblende rich source, with distinct but variable Eu anomaly. Existence of negative Eu (Eu/Eu~*:0.12) anomaly in the REE pattern of the plagiogranite, and that of negative correlation CaO and Na_2O with SiO_2 in the Harker diagram proposes that fractional crystallization of plagioclase was also significant in petrological history of the samples. Geochemical characteristics showed 3 groups of plagiogranites, possibly reflecting variable degrees of partial melting. Both the gabbro and plagigranites have high LILE/HFSE ratios, with negative Ti anomalies, typical for subduction zone-related settings.
