摘要

A new flexible hanger design (two brackets + a rod) has been developed to replace the original 3-rod design which enabled robust manufacturability and up to about 50% weight reduction. Quantitative durability design is the key to lightweight solutions. Improvement in system reliability provides more lightweight opportunities. Stainless steel does not show advantage in mass reduction however, it has significant cost advantage over other metals with the same NVH and durability performances.
