摘要

Water, in its many forms, is one of the major elements of geographical landscape for both direct uses for humans and for normal activities of the biosphere, obviously, essential for human survival and welfare. The human influence on oceans dramatically varies from one ecosystem to another. The most affected areas are the coral reefs, sea grass, mangrove groves, rocky reefs and platforms. The least affected ecosystems are oozy bottom areas and surface areas from the high seas. The pollution affects all the world's oceans, but coastal waters are more affected than those on the high seas, as there are many more sources of pollution from industrial plants to maritime transport.
