Autonomic Computing (AC) [1], [2] is a rapidly growing. IT field that promises a new approach to developing large scale complex computing systems. AC was originally introduced by IBM Research to draw an analogy between computing systems and the human body’s autonomic nervous system [2]. The idea behind this analogy is that computing systems must manage themselves, as the human body does, or they risk being a casualty of their own complexity. Hence, the AC paradigm aims at handling complexity through self-management by transforming computing systems into autonomic systems.
