In order to simulate the dynamic characteristics of the real leaf spring, a dynamic model of leaf spring is set up in ADAMS/View with the application of discrete beam theory. Considering the difficulty of setting the exact dynamic parameters of discrete beam, ADAMS/Insight is used to analyze the sensitivity of these parameters. Then, simulated annealing-genetic algorithm is used to solve these reverse variables which are determined by the analyzed results. Finally, the effective of the method is validated in a reverse solution calculation example of leaf spring with variable stiffness for the rear suspension of a vehicle.
