Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) of a turbulent channel flow in conjunction with the Lagrangian Scalar Tracking (LST) of passive heat markers was carried out. These markers were released from a line source located at the wall of the channel, and their trajectories were monitored in space and time to study the effect of an instantaneous line source for fluids of Prandtl number 0.1, 0.7, 6, 20, 50. The simulation results are used to reconstruct a temperature profile and to investigate passive scalar transport from the wall of the channel.
