A 12 km railway tunnel currently under construction is designed with an underground station allowing trains to pass through the station at full speed; 250 km/h. To the authors knowledge this is roughly twice the speed of normal passages through existing enclosed stations. The paper describes work done to reduce draft and pressure discomfort for passengers waiting on the station. Especially, it is the effect of sudden pressure changes on "unaware" people on the platforms that has been the focus. Use of pressure shafts and extended portals are evaluated, and it is suggested to include both measures.
