SVHC Substance of Very High Concern are... 1. Carcinogens, mutagens and substances toxic to reproduction (CMR category 1 and 2). 2. Persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT). 3. Very persistent or very bioaccumulative (vPvB). 4. Substances of "equivalent concern" e.g. endocrine disruptors. All SVHCs will appear on a Candidate List or Annex XIV. Currently there are 151 substances on the list: 1. Target is around 600 by 2020. The lists specifies: 1. The last date substances can legally be use "sunset date". 2. Or the purposes for which they are authorised for use. The Candidate List includes Chromium Trioxide. Sunset Date...end of 2017.
