摘要

This paper investigates the determinants of technology improvement in Chinese industry employing GMM-SYS estimation based on panel of large and medium-sized industrial enterprises over the period 2000-09. In addition, Malmquist productivity index was used to calculate TFP variables. We find that FDI and R&D investment are two detenninants of China's productivity growth, the technology accumulation also important for enterprise keep the leader position in technology. Human capital acted as "assimilation device" for R&D both in promoting TFP growth and increasing technical efficiency, meanwhile, negative evidence also found with respect to technical progress.
