Support Scheme Optimization of Large-section and Soft-rock Roadway in Tunlan Mine

The haulage roadway of Face 12501 of Tunlan mine was a large-section and soft-rock roadway, and its deformation was very large, so the original support system could not satisfy the support demands. Three optimization schemes were proposed according to the geological conditions of the roadway, and the schemes were simulated by FLAC3D. The results showed that reducing the row & line space was not a good way to improve the supporting effect, however, it would effectively reduce the maximum stress of surrounding rocks and control the development of plastic zones by using long bolts instead of anchor cables, the maximum stress was reduced from 16.5MPatol3.9MPa, and the roof's plastic damage range was reduced from 2.8m to 1.5m. The supporting effect is significant, and it could maintain the roadway's stability effectively.
