On the Planning of Recreational Greenways in Central Wujin City for the Construction of a Livable City

摘要

The construction of urban recreational greenways can promote the development of livable cities. This paper takes Wujin of Changzhou City as an example to discuss the basic methods and content of the recreational greenway planning targeted at the construction of a livable city. In the preliminary analysis, emphasis is put on the analysis of landscape resources and various related elements, which leads to the establishment of the orientation and strategies for recreational greenway planning. In the overall planning, the basic layout and the primary requirements and cross-section structures for five different types of recreational greenways are identified so as to achieve the versatility of the greenways; while in separate item planning, slow system planning, service facilities planning and identification system planning are designed so as to ensure the multi-functions of the greenways. The final goal is to establish a recreational greenway system which will contribute to the future livable city construction in improving urban development, residents' living and ecological environment.
