In this paper, a new ultra-wideband planar bandpass filter with super wide upper stopband is presented. The proposed filter is implemented by two diamond-shape microstrip lines at the top and bottom layer, which are broadside coupled through the diamond-shape slot. To achieve harmonic suppression, an open stub is used. Simulation results show that the dedicated structure has a 3-dB working bandwidth from 3.4 to 12.3 GHz, 20-dB upper stopband from 14.5 to 35 GHz and minimum 0.4-dB insertion loss at the center of the passband.
