The Dunamenti power plant is located in Százhalombatta in Hungary, at 30 km south of Budapest, next to the Danube. The G3 project was initiated when the owner and operator of the power plant, Dunamenti Eromu zrt., decided to investigate the feasibility of the construction of a combined cycle power plant based on an F-class gas turbine. At that time the power plant consisted of six gas / oil fired boilers (F 8/9/10/11/12/13, the "F-units") and two gas turbine co-generation units (G1 and G2).
