摘要

The article presents representative technical characteristics of the current video surveillance systems, illumination requirements, quality of images, levels of detailing for video images and transmission of orders for interactions with other security systems. Short presentation of some recent achievements in the field of CCTV systems allows emphasizing performances attained by these systems and their possibilities for future use. There are highlighted current research directions for video surveillance systems, taking into account of the influence of human factor on the adopted level of automation. The conclusion is that the current video surveillance systems need to be of type semi-automatic, provided with performant man-machine interfaces allowing the human operator to remain placed in "automatic control loop" and responsible for the overall situation of the monitored objective.
