Our mobile society requires tailor-made energy storage solutions for several technologies - from small sensor systems over cell phones and laptops to electric vehicles. Additionally, the demand for stationary energy solutions is steadily growing. The utilization of renewable resources, like wind energy, photovoltaics, requires the storage of the electric energy due to the unsteadiness of these natural resources (depending on the day, the time of the year,...). These systems will also be an integral part of a 'smart grid'.
