Hydrogen is a potential energy carrier, and can be considered for both stationary and mobile applications. Further, hydrogen can act as an agent allowing the energy storage resulting from renewable sources and this could be the route to overcome the production of hydrogen from fossil fuels, which causes the release of CO2. While it seems to be the ideal means of transport and conversion of energy for such applications, there are issues which prevent the massive application of a hydrogen economy, due to several safety issues and the efficient storage of hydrogen.
