Management and its manner of exercise do not represent ends in themselves, but the main factor for an efficient and effective organization. Risk management activities are a major concern for the entity management. Risk management is fundamental in trying to reduce the negative effects involved in its manifestation. Since the complete avoidance of risk is not possible, entity management should focus on avoiding risk categories that can't be controlled and understood, as well as on the process of monitoring and using the risks that can help to increase performance. In this article, we intend to tackle the implementation of the risk management system in an entity through relevant international standards. Our research aims to identify the issues that organizations are facing in implementing the Standard 11 'Risk Management' and in outlining a model of risk assessment.
