Corona discharge effect on frequency electric field distribution for AC transmission lines

High-voltage electrical power transmission is an important development direction to improve the capacity of power transmission. However, the electromagnetic environmental problems caused by High voltage have been of concern, and corona is an important factor to influence on electromagnetic environment around transmission line. In this paper, based on the charge simulation method, and space charge effecting on line face charge distribution, the computation method of electric field intensity of the high-voltage transmission lines taking the corona discharge into account was established. With this model, ground level electrical field under 1000 kV UHV transmission lines was calculated; the result showed the impact of corona discharge on ground level electrical field distribution characteristics, the maximum electric field intensity appears on a distance of about 23 m to the middle phase line in horizontal position on the ground, the corona discharge could strengthen composed ground level electric field of transmission lines, and the greatest influences of corona on ground level electrical field could be below the middle phase line.
