According to the basic principle and calculation model of water resource ecological footprint, we analyze the water resource ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity in Jiangxi Province in 2010. The results show that the ecological footprint per capita was 0.891 hm~2 and the ecological capacity per capita is 1.556 hm~2. The ecological carrying capacity of water resource in Jiangxi Province was higher than the ecological footprint and the ecological surplus. The water resource ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity of each city were unevenly distributed. To promote the sustainable development, effective measures, e.g., distributing water resources reasonably and adjusting the structure of water resource, should be considered in future socio-economy in Jiangxi Province.
