摘要

After examining compound growth rate (C.G.R.), it was observed that in first decade (1970-71 to 1979-80) production and productivity of sugarcane was highly significant, while in third decade (1990-91 to 1999-2000) and for the whole period (1970-71 to 1999-2000) area and production was significant and highly significant respectively. In finding relationship, area and production of sugarcane was highly significant in all three decades and for the whole period (1970-71 to 1999-2000) but it was noticed that production and productivity was highly significant and significant in first decade (1970-71 to 1979-80) and in third decade (1990-91 to 1999-2000) respectively. This reveals that for the period under study there was good strength of relationship between area and production of sugarcane rather than production and productivity. In further contribution study it was reflected that ratio (MVP/MC) > 1.0, gives clear indication for scope to increase area and productivity in order to increase sugarcane production in Maharashtra State.
