Cognitive Radio (CR) is a novel wireless technology which can be used as a solution to crisis of spectrum resources. CR is a technology to increase spectral efficiency by exploiting frequency holes in dynamically varying environments. Energy efficient design in wireless network is very important. In this paper, we investigate an optical power allocation procedure that maximizes the Energy Efficiency (EE) of transmissions from a cognitive base station. The objective function of Energy efficient problem is neither concave nor convex. Therefore we have to use a concave fractional program for optimizing the objective function. Dinkelbach parametric method is used to transform the objective function into a concave program. Simulation results exhibit that performance of the proposed method is much more effective as compared to the state of arts methods.
