This paper addresses the vector-controlled induction motor drives using Robust Structure Theory (RST) intelligent controller. The RST controller is one of the robust cum intelligent controllers which can replace the conventional PI controller in near future. Because the performance of conventional PI controller is satisfactory in terms of accurate tracking only but its performance degrades when the machine parameters changes and sudden disturbances occur. Since the changes in machine parameters and the disturbances are inevitable so the replacement is needed. Hence the use of robust-intelligent controller now a day is encouraged. The implementation of this controllers, i.e., RST in vector-controlled induction motor drives is a novel approach meeting the all objectives such as accurate tracking, insensitiveness to the parameter variations and disturbances adaption. The performance of the proposed controller is proved better by comparing with PI controller using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
