This paper presents an experimental study on the interaction between premixed flame and a sinusoidal acoustic wave externally produced by a loudspeaker, considering both frequency and acoustic power. To do that, the loudspeaker is laterally positioned at the bottom of the combustion tube through a connecting tube. At a constant input acoustic power while the experiment condition is varied with input acoustic frequencies, the results showed that the growth rate of acoustic instability is experimentally found to be higher for the combustion at input frequencies corresponding to the first harmonic mode comparing to that at the fundamental mode. This result is subsequently inconsistent to a consequence characterized by velocity coupling. Moreover, at fundamental mode the input acoustic power has a significant effect on the position of parametric instability occurrence which dominates the growth rate of acoustic instability.
