A detailed surface CO/O2 reaction mechanism for Pt/CeOx catalyst is developed by using gaseous and surface species measurements.Conventional oxygen storage reaction of CeOx is based only on chemical equilibrium(CeO2 ←→CeO2-x +(x/2)O2),but well-known spill over or reactions of metal-support interface have never been considered for the surface reaction mechanisms.In this study,a surface reaction mechanism of CO/O2 on Pt/CeOx is developed by taking reactions on metal,support,spill over and metal-support interface into account.Experimental results show the increase in light-off performance with the increase in oxygen concentration,and linearly adsorbed CO surface species on both metal and support surfaces.Numerical simulation results are compared with steady state experimental results and the results show good agreement over different oxygen concentration conditions.
