This presentation will review the new requirements of TL 9000 and ISO 9001:2000, as well as a four-phase implementation plan to be utilized for transitioning from the ISO 9001:1994 Quality Management System to the new requirements. A four-phase approach-Start-Up, Development, Implementation, and Registration/Improvement - will be presented which could be utilized by most organizations to achieve TL or ISO 9001:2000 registration. Tyco Electronics Corporation was recommended for approval to both ISO 9001:2000 and TL 9000 Release 3.0 on June 1, 2001 by LRQA. Tyco Electronics was the first company in the world to achieve both certificates at the same time, and represents the largest multi-site organization certified to TL 9000. The scope of registration covers 29 sites and 12,680 employees throughout North America.
