The total shipment of titanium mill products in Japan has doubled over the past decade and Japan now plays a major role in the world market for titanium. The shipment of titanium for general industries and civilian applications owing to emphasis on the development of applications has steadily grown. The Japan Titanium Society (JTS), in addition to the mill product makers, customers, and fabricators, has played a key role in developing titanium applications. For steady growth of the world's titanium industry, a global commitment to application development must be made. In this regard, we believe that Japan has an important mission to fulfill.
