摘要

Aeolian sandstones are favorable reservoirs for the petroliferous basins because of their fine physical property. As a kind of geologic records of paleowind, aeolian sandstones are of great significance to the study of paleoenvironment. This paper focuses on the Eocene aeolian sandstones of the red strata in Dongying Depression of Bohai Bay Basin. By analyzing the sedimentary characteristics, lithology, grain size, and surface texture of the quartz grains of the aeolian sandstones, this paper confirms the existence of aeolian sandstones in Dongying Depression, which is the first discovery of aeolian sandstones in the Eocene East China and thus provides a starting point for the study of the Eocene dry periods. The analysis of the physical property shows that the aeolian sandstones have good porosity and connectivity and thus are favorable oil-gas reservoirs.
