One-dimensional TiO_2-PVP composite nanofibers were synthesized on the Aluminum collector using costeffective electrospinning technique. The nanofibers were prepared at various polymer concentrations (7, 8, 9 and 10wt%) to obtain bead-less nanofibers. The structural and microstructural properties were studied using XRD, SEM, and Raman spectroscopy techniques. The optical properties were characterized by diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). XRD peaks confirmed the anatase and rutile phases of TiO_2 nanofibers at 400°C and 900°C respectively. Raman frequencies also confirmed the phases of TiO_2 nanofibers. The SEM results point out the polymer concentration and annealing temperature influence on the diameter of the nanofibers EDS spectrum shows effective composition of pure TiO_2 nanofibers. Optical band gap calculated using Kubelka-Munk function.
