Additive manufacturing techniques are apowerful tool to make components with a high degree of freedomin the design and tailoring the microstructure. Recently, numerousstudies including processing windows have been reportedelectron-beam additive manufacturing (EBAM). They areintensively concentrated on the control of grain structures includinggrain size and morphology through designs of scanning strategy orprocess parameters. In the present study, the influence of focusoffset on the defects, microstructures and mechanical properties ofInconel 718 superalloy fabricated by EBAM.
