The high temperature supercondcutor YBCO thin fioms on the flexible Ni-Cr alloy substrate tapes with a buffer layer of yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) were fabricated using the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. The buffer layer YSZ of 0.5 mu m in thickness was formed on the Ni-Cr alloy substrate tape by ion-assisted pulsed laser depositions(ISPLD). The YBCO thin film with thickness 1.5 mu m was deposited on the YSZ/Ni-Cr alloy substrate tape by a KrF Laser. From th X-ray diffraction pattern, the YBCO thin film was confirmed to be strongly C-axis oriented. The temperature and the magnetic field dependence of critical current density (J_c) and the stress dependence of J_c were measured by standard four-point probe method. The J_c at 77K and zero magnetic field and critical temperature of the YBCO/YSZ/Ni-Cr composite superconducting tape were 8.75x10~4 A/cm~2 and 88.7 K, respectively. The critical current was found to rapidly reduce when the strain is over 0.25
