Electrical Power System Application Analysis of a High T_c Superconducting Fault Current Limiter

摘要

The saturable magnetidc core electrical fault current limiter is one of the fault current limiting concepts which are designed using high T_c superconductors (HTS). The Ag-clad (BiPb)_2Sr_2Ca_2Cu_3O_(10+x) HTS wire which is now well developed is employed in the design of a saturable magnetic core failt current limiter as a dc dias winding. The electrical performance of this type of HTS fault current limiter is investigated for use in a 6.3 kV electrical power tranmission and distribution system. The results show that this fault current limiter reduces fault currents effectively, and is a possible solution for restricting power system fault level.
