Protection device used in electrical power system, triggers switching of switching device based on temperature parameter of superconducting fault current limiter, in order to interrupt current flowing through current limiter
The protection device (100) has superconducting fault current limiter (110) which is serially connected with switching device (150). A current detecting unit (121) detects an electrical current flowing through superconducting fault current limiter. An evaluation unit (140) detects a temperature parameter of the superconducting fault current limiter based on detected electric current and triggers switching of switching device on basis of parameter, in order to interrupt current flow through superconducting fault current limiter.
