Cable in Condulit Conductors (CICC's) are fore-seen in fusion maguets where the conduit and the Nb_3SN cable have to be heat tranted simultaneously. The difference in thermal contraction between conuit and NbsSn filaments during cooling from reaction to LHe temperature put the filaments into compressive prestrain which in turn degrades the critical current (I_c).
