The paper studies dependency of the picked up signal upon angular position of elliptically polarized antenna. Upon its rotation the frequency shift of the picked up oscillation arises, which is not related to the closing speed of transmitting and receiving antennas and, respectively, to the group velocity of the picked up wave. The phase tracking loop of navigational receiver does not discriminate the cause of phase increment - is it closing or antennas' rotation - and if the range variation is phase tracked, the error occurs which may be essential for the high-frequency inertial navigation systems.
