We, a team of students named AIMIS, are investigating the possibility of producing large supporting and basic structures in space using an additive manufacturing method. The technology demonstration used here is designed to be as simple as possible. By means of a piston, a UV-active resin is pushed out of a storage tank and specifically illuminated by means of UV-LEDs. In comparison to current additive manufacturing methods, the aim is to achieve sizes in the meter range with accuracies in the millimeter range. In this paper, the currently used method, methods on which research is being carried out and our method are shown with the current simulation results which have already been carried out.
