Engineering work at Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is performed by qualified professional staff. The qualification requirements consist of both initial and continuing training. The Conduct of Engineering Workshop (CoEW) is a component of the continuing training program that promotes professional development. Every year senior engineering leaders select different topics for the Workshop. They cover a range of subjects related to key engineering functions and safety culture themes. For instance, a sample of topics selected include: Engaged Thinking Organization, Technical Conscience, Nuclear Engineering Professionalism, Protecting the Design Basis, Systematic Approach to Problem Solving, etc.
