摘要

The renewed worldwide interest in nuclear energy is creating a growing demand worldwide for qualified engineers who are familiar with normal operation and responses to transients and accidents of nuclear power plants. Although there is an important accumulated experience and know-how about the Water Cooled Reactors (WCRs) due to the safe operation of numerous WCRs installed worldwide, WCRs operation knowledge is still limited in developing countries and emerging nuclear energy countries. As part of the efforts to support technology training activities, The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) initiated a program in nuclear reactor simulation computer programs. Currently, the IAEA has Nuclear Power Plant simulation software available for the most installed reactor types in the world. Simulation software is provided for both conventional and advanced Pressurized Water Reactors (PWRs), Boiling Water Reactors (BWRs) and Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs). These simulators can be requested at no cost by interested parties from IAEA Member States.
