摘要

The Nuclear Uniform Curriculum Program (NUCP) was developed to provide a standardized program of study for individuals to fill entry-level nuclear energy operators, technicians or maintenance operators. In some cases, institutions offering NUCP certificates either produce more graduates than their local utility can employ, or do not have enough students in the program to be financially viable for the institution. Bismarck State College (BSC), in conjunction with the Energy Provider's Coalition for Energy (EPCE), developed a potential solution by developing innovative secondary partnerships with utilities across the country utilizing its primary partnership with Exelon's Byron station. In addition, BSC is also exploring developing partnerships with local community colleges to provide online NUCP courses for their students so those colleges can graduate students equipped with NUCP certificates without the cost and resource associated with maintaining their own programs.
