In recent years, CIP (Cold Isostatic Pressing ) process has become popular in the field of powder metallurgy and ceramics, etc., as an effective method for powder compaction and forming to produce high degree of product density and uniformity before sintering. However, there are still some challenges from the view point of productivity, accuracy, and managing powder which has difficulty for CIP process, etc. This paper describes the latest progress in CIP technologies in Japan to meet these challenges.
