The expansion of green jobs has promoted inspiration and hope for positive impacts on the economy and the environment. Green jobs are traditionally defined as jobs supporting environmental sustainability. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) defines green jobs as "either; 1. Jobs in businesses that produce goods or provide services that benefit the environment or conserve natural resources. 2. Jobs in which workers' duties involve making their establishment's production processes more environmentally friendly or use fewer natural resources." These jobs include renewable energy, energy efficiency products and services, pollution and greenhouse gas reduction, recycling, natural resource conservation, and environmental compliance.
