The expansion of green jobs has promoted inspiration and hope for positive impacts on the economy and the environment. Green jobs are traditionally defined as jobs supporting environmental sustainability. Globally, countries have set "green" objective goals to reduce carbon footprint, expanding the green economy and job growth. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) defines green jobs as "either: 1. Jobs in businesses that produce goods or provide services that benefit the environment or conserve natural resources. 2. Jobs in which workers' duties involve making their establishment's production processes more environmentally friendly or use fewer natural resources."
