One of the efficient means is to conduct virtual design techniques in the development of new products, which can easily realize innovation design, reduce the cost, shorten the cycle, and raise the quality. The application and research of virtual techniques in the elevator design system, 3-D parametric design system and training system of tower crane, and vibration-impact rammer design are introduced briefly in the paper. A number of suggestions and methods of using virtual techniques are presented for the small- to-medium enterprises.
