THe task of IHRT-Institute for handling Devices and Robotics-is to do theoretical research in the field of robotics, where industrial applications seem to be future oriented. Furthermore research should be doen for Austria's industry especially for small and medium sized enterprises. Muti-Agent-Systems-MAS" is a new research activity at the institute, because it has a high potential in application like serivce robots. Agents are autoonomous and s emi-autonomous hardware of software systems that perform tasks in complex, dynamically changing environment. THis paper describes the research activities in the field of MAS at IHRT.
