Another pearl of the ocean wide, The result of creativity and research is the "Zero Resistivity" i.e., Superconductivity. The beginning of the 20th Century witnessed perhaps the most revolutionary changes in Physics. Several discoveries made it clear that the highly successful theories of mechanics and electrdmagnetism developed in the 19th Century were far from being adequate to describe the newly discovered phenomena of "Zero Resistivity" or "Infinite Conductivity" is termed as Superconductivity. The Superconductivity is capturing the imagination of the world. Transmission Lines that carry power without resistance, medical diagnostic tools that eliminate the need for surgery, "levitating" trains that speed along the tracks-these are not visions of the future, but examples of what superconductors are doing today. It is natural to focus on the aspects with which one is most conversant. So, here in this paper we will concentrate on some of the basic Physical properties of these superconductors and, their applications in Power transmission.
