Formal expert elicitation studies are time and resource intensive. This study is appropriately viewed as a pilot exercise and results are preliminary. The consistency of budget allocation among participants from different countries may reflect the fact that all of them are technical experts. To further expand on this study, it would be useful to compare these results with results from a prioritization done by a group of policy makers. It is interesting to note an increased budget for modeling allocated by participants from developing countries. This may be explained by a scarcity of resources and realization that modeling can be as efficient as experimental studies given the overall uncertainties inherent in the risk assessment process.
