We have developed the techniques of imaging vortices in thin superconducting films using surface passivation with Au thin layer. We applied our technique to study vortex configurations in thin film with weak vortex pinning (a-Mo_(2.7)Ge) and a strongly pinning material (NbN) at 4.2K in magnetic fields up to 1.4T.
