The critical buckling of composite plates withrna single rectangular delamination is studiedrnusing exact stiffness analysis and thernWittrick-Williams algorithm. Computationalrnefficiency is achieved by avoidingrndiscretisation into elements, making thernmethod suitable for preliminary aircraftrndesign and parametric studies. Numericalrnresults for longitudinal compressive loadingrnshow the level of reduction in buckling loadrnwith increasing length and width ofrndelamination. Critical buckling strength isrnincreased as the delamination is movedrntowards the plate surface, but is relativelyrninsensitive to its widthwise and lengthwisernlocation. The results are validated by finiternelement analysis.
